History Museum Targoviste


The History Museum Targoviste (National Museum "Curtea Domneasca" Targoviste) - http://www.curteadomneascatargoviste.ro - aims to develop and exploit all the aspects related to cultural and scientific heritage of Dâmboviţa County. The museum was opened on May, 11, 1967, and is located in a building dating from the second-half of the nineteenth century. The building is typical to neo-Romanian style and was built after the plans of architect Ion Mincu, the Cantacuzin cellars from the seventeenth century. Basically, the museum has permanent and periodical exhibitions dedicated to the history of the Region. The evolution of human (starting with Paleolithic period), but also the development of technology is one of the topic developed by the museum specialists. More, the exhibits are also oriented on the evolution of writing, since its emergence and continuing with the invention of printing with movable letters by Gutenberg and its spreading to Europe. The museum offers also the possibility to participate in special workshops dedicated to pupils, students and general public.

IRRESISTIBLE is a project on teacher training, combining formal and informal learning focused on Responsible Research and Innovation.

It is a coordination and support action under FP7-SCIENCE-IN-SOCIETY-2013-1, ACTIVITY 5.2.2 Young people and science: Topic SiS.2013.2.2.1-1 Raising youth awareness to Responsible Research and Innovation through Inquiry ased Science Education.
